Cuban-born pianist Alfredo Rodriguez, who received his education in the demanding classical conservatories of Havana, draws inspiration from a diverse range of influences, including Bach, Stravinsky, Cuban music, and jazz. He was discovered by Quincy Jones at the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival, and his music exemplifies the fusion of jazz and improvisation without limits.
Rodriguez earned a GRAMMY Award nomination in 2015 for “Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A Cappella” for his track “Guantanamera” from the 2014 album “The Invasion Parade.”
