Over the course of his six-decade career, Mendes has done everything from contributing to the foundation of Bossa Nova alongside the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim, creating an era-defining latin-pop sound with his iconic group Brasil ’66, collaborating with jazz legends like Cannonball Adderley and Herbie Mann, and writing hit songs like the Oscar®-nominated theme song from the animated movie Rio.
